Lectures will provide detailed accounts of the principal developments in the early world from the ancient to revolutionary period to the present day. Buildings will be explored with reference to major contemporary examples and the work and philosophy of significant exponents. Students will undertake a major research of a significant building, complete with investigation of the major influences that led to its development and in turn its influence in other architectural aspects.

Project 1

Sketching analysis

Architectural research and analysis on 5 buildings across different period of time in history.

Project 1 was a very fun project as we were given the task to explore into different buildings that applies each unique architectural styles. Within this 5 subjects, there are significant elements and components that stand out as its own. Identifying and further analyzing these traits are very interesting as they always have many stories to tell.

Project 2

Analysis report

To study on Sunway Lagoon Chinwoo Stadium and carry out architectural analysis

Project 2 was a group project based on the study of 2 buildings. Through effort put in team cooperation and the research made, we were able to compile a comprehensive analysis report using Canva, Photoshop, Procreate and etc. to illustrate, compose and present our findings accordingly. We understood deeper on how local buildings implemented various materials and components following the architectural style's influence at time of construction.

SELF-REFLECTION

Throughout the 14 weeks of lectures & tutorials carried out fully in virtual means, I'm glad to pronounce that it was indeed a fruitful journey and every effort poured was undoubtfully rewarding in the end.
Online learning-and-teaching environment had evolved from a challenge into a norm since the pandemic hit
2 years ago, hence since then ups and downs were bout chapters on how we accomplish all the projects while still being able to fit into this new mode of studying.

With the excellent platforms implemented by the school such as TIME'S, FACEBOOK, MS TEAMS and etc., we students achieved a seamless interaction with our tutors apart from presenting our ideas and justification to them beyond boundaries.

This module widen my knowledge of history in architecture and made me realized once again on how crucial all these breakthrough in construction methods and components would improve modern-day conventions. Pre-recorded lectures in Zoom and supplementary materials uploaded in Times by lecturers were indeed comprehensive and interesting.
