INTRODUCTION TO DRAWING
ASSIGNMENT 2. MY SPACE
PROGRESS
WE WERE GIVEN A 6 WEEKS' WINDOW OF COMPLETION SINCE ANNOUNCMENT OF THE PROJECT BRIEF.
WEEK 1
The space of my choice was my bedroom as it is the place that I'm most familiar with.
The overall dimension of my bedroom could fit in to the A4 size seamlessly with a 1:50 scale which was just about the right choice also.
/DECIDE ON SPACE TO DRAW
/ COME OUT WITH DRAFT MEASUREMENT OF THE SPACE SELECTED
WEEK 2
/ PRODUCE PRELIMINARY DRAWING OF FLOOR PLAN WITH DIMENSIONS
/ OBTAIN FEEDBACKS FROM TUTOR
- to adapt the comments and fine tune the drawings with proper tools
I started to draft out the floor plan and generated a list of assumptions that I've made as some areas were beyond reach, e.g. gross floor height, space above ceiling and etc.
Measuring tapes and proper tools were maneuvered to generate accurate reflections of dimensions best possible.
WEEK 3
/ TO COMPLETE FLOOR PLAN DRAWING
/ PRODUCE PRELIMINARY DRAWINGS OF ELEVATIONS WITH DIMENSIONS
Over this week, I've then continue on producing elevation drawings based on the floor plan that I've finalized previously.
I kept my tutor updated with my progress to make sure I'm in the right direction at all times.
WEEK 4
/ TO COMPLETE ELEVATION DRAWINGS
/ PRODUCE PRELIMINARY DRAWINGS OF SECTION WITH DIMENSIONS
I've completed 3 elevation drawings and came down to the sectional drawing.
I did some background study and referred to some real life drawings that included toilet details as it'd be part of my drawing too.
Toilet Details study from CAD dwg
WEEK 5
/ TO COMPLETE SECTIONAL DRAWING
/ PRODUCE PRELIMINARY DRAWINGS OF DETAILS DRAWING WITH DIMENSIONS
The sectional drawing above was completed after checking with our tutor. I've then proceed with producing the details drawing. I decided to step up the game by providing Toilet Details in 1:25 scale instead of loose furniture details, as so I made even more in-depth studies before I commened.

WEEK 6
/ TO COMPLETE ALL DRAWINGS

/ DOUBLE CHECK ALL DRAWINGS WERE INKED PROPERLY
- line weight
- tidiness and accuracy of hatching
All of the drawings were completed as it reaches the submission week. I've tabulated the different type of line weights to use according to the thickness of component in reality.
Finally, I've crossed check once again to ensure all was properly done and ready for submission.

REVIEW
This assignment was an excellent platform for us to showcase our skills picked up from A1, and further exhibit them by using pen instead of pencil. When it comes to pigment liners, the line weight selected should be carefully done as a wide range would provide a much more comprehensive drawing, indicating different thickness of various components illustrated. The tidiness of the overall drawing was taken into precise consideration despite improving on my lettering also. It gave us a better understanding and a more down-to-earth connection with the actual drawings in the current construction industry. Reasonable assumption inputs were given during lectures and further implemented in the drawings to guarantee the overall rationality of the drawing.
